Brother of the Wind & the Pen
For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.
Here is Sorez's exclusive May piece, titled Whatever the Weather ... like a postal worker ... through rain, sleet or snow ... for hardcore riders any season is fair game. But it's nice to have fair weather on the horizon.
Sorez, a contributing writer for Outlaw Biker Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published in the spring of 2018.
WHATEVER THE WEATHER
I rode throughout the winter
‘Twas as long as it was hard
Although I fared better than most
I rode some miles upon the road
Heavy gear now in the closet
As spring has made its way
Though there is a chill in the air
And clouded sky still mostly gray
Jammin’ towards the horizon
With a summer frame of mind
As for me whatever the weather
It will always be season to ride

Enjoy the riding season on the horizon, as you can finally put away that winter gear.
