Brother of the Wind & the Pen
For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.
Here is Sorez's exclusive January piece, titled Ride On Forward, a missive on years past, and a thank you for the adventures to come. Keep up the hope and be kind to those around you. This mortal coil gives us a finite amount of time ... use it wisely.
Sorez, a contributing writer for Outlaw Biker Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published in the spring of 2018.
Ride On Forward
Another birthday closer
To the end of road
Highway miles are limited
As breath of wind unfolds
Decades rode upon two wheels
A blessing no doubt indeed
Another year now older
Not wiser beyond my years
Giving credit where it’s due
To the good Lord up above
No doubt always had my back
Throughout years of chaos
Every mile is a given
That I am thankful for
Each day that I can saddle up
And am able to ride on forward
We are honored to welcome in the new year with another poem from our very own Sorez the Scribe. Best wishes to all for a better 2025.
