For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.

Here is Sorez's exclusive August piece, titled Echoes into Wind ... as time passes you by always be on the lookout for those special moments, so they don't pass you by. Those are the moments, two-wheeled or otherwise, which make life worth living.

Sorez, a contributing writer for Outlaw Biker Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published in the spring of 2018.

ECHOES INTO WIND

There are many more miles behind me
Than there are on the highways ahead
In the saddle while twisting throttle
Hoping to survive another day
Due diligence should get me further
But then that remains to be seen
Always cagers to the left and right
And eighteen-wheelers gaining speed
Not often but every once in a while
While traveling on back country roads
I’ll find that glitch in the matrix
Like I’m riding through twilight zone
Times when there’re no cagers around
Just me on my ride traveling miles
Roar of the engine, shifting of gears
Twisting throttle, echoes into wind.
