For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.

Here is Sorez's exclusive April piece, titled Forget Me Not. "The more important things in life ... (this is) for my grandkids," Sorez says.

Sorez, a long-time contributing writer for Road Hawk Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. He also has a new magazine coming out this month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published back in the spring of 2018.

Forget Me Not

I try to give my grandkids
Some lasting memories
Ones worth holding onto
Since so much fades away
Life’s not always fun and games
And you cannot always win
Easy enough a lesson to learn
To understand and comprehend
Now family is most important
And blood is thicker than water
There is a code to be known
As they grow up and get older
I cannot lead by example
Always rode behind the pack
But one thing they can count on
Is that Grandpa has their backs
