For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.

Here is Sorez's exclusive November piece, titled Giving Thanks, a personal note to reclaiming lost relationships.

Sorez, a contributing writer for Outlaw Biker Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published in the spring of 2018.

Giving Thanks

Sometimes there are no words
That could even begin to describe
The depth of appreciation
For the things have transpired
Having spent the last two decades
Rebuilding a broke down life
Trying to keep a bike in the wind
Became very hard at times
No need for me to rehash
The past is gone and done
What it is that I’d like to share
Is from the here and now
My ride has come full circle
Having rode hard through it all
It’s almost like a second chance
Out there on the open road
The miracle of a long lost father
Coming home to my heart
Bygones they just had to go
Had to, finally be, let go of
Love and longing was always there
Deep down in our hearts
Only problem there ever was
Is we kept that to ourselves
