Brother of the Wind & the Pen
For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.
Here is Sorez's exclusive August piece, titled Right On! ... a missive on getting through some hard times.
Sorez, a contributing writer for Outlaw Biker Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published in the spring of 2018.
RIGHT ON!
Cannot ride away from sorrows
‘Cause they’ll be there upon return
Taking them with you upon the road
Can turn out to be a fatal mistake
Best to face those troubles head-on
As hard as that will no doubt be
There really can be no other way
When your heart is upon your sleeve
No need to get into any of the details
As they are too deep to be shared
Where even wind cannot calm nerves
And the road becomes a danger to self
Please keep this brother in your thoughts
As my ride, it starts cooling down
And I do my best to try and persevere
Because right is just the right thing to do.

Sending all our best thoughts to Sorez and his family during these hard times.
